"It's all right, Mia, I'll say it!"
Elk's role is a little bit smaller in this volume.
After gating into Carmina Gadelica, Elk and Mia are already there waiting for you. Mia's voice seems to be a bit screwed up at the moment, so Elk aids his friend and does the talking for her.
Somehow they found out about the next area you're about to go into. Elk insists that Kite takes them along.
"Besides, Mia taught the process of Gate Hacking, so I think we deserve to go."
With that said, the group hacks through their way into the snow filled area. After defeating the Data Bug there, Elk finds some Aromatic Grass, and happily hands it over to Mia. Her voice seems to be fixed now!
Back in town, Elk thanks Kite for bringing them along, but... Mia's voice screws up again.

Oddly enough, you can use Elk anytime you wish after this field, but you can't bring Mia along.
