Since the anime and manga potray differently on Hotaru's personality, here are two profiles instead of one.

Manga
A little Wavemaster PC, who is new to "The World", and plays on the Japanese server from America in hopes of learning Japanese. She is tender and sweet, and has a cheery personality. Hotaru can't help but love every creature, and even goes as far as refusing to fight the monsters in the game. She is constantly carrying around a baby Puchiguso she found sick in a street corner of Mac Anu, and since then has cared for it.


                      Anime
Again, Hotaru is a little Wavemaster PC, who is new, but it is never really specified where she comes from or why she started playing. Hotaru is rather shy and does not speak out much, and is mostly seen with Sanjuro. This time she does not show much of a love for all things "Mother Nature created", and does aid in battle, though not a whole lot. Even in battle, Hotaru is more of a healer than a fighter. She does carry around a baby Puchiguso, but was able to keep it after the Puchiguso refused to go back to its original owner.
